Ana-Maria Ioniță
Senior Counsel
EU Funds and Public Procurement
Ana-Maria Ioniță advises on the public procurement and EU funds aspects of complex reviews, compliance assessments, internal investigations and ongoing advisory matters across the full project cycle. With more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of public procurement, EU funds, public-sector projects and contract compliance, she has managed the full project cycle - from planning and procurement strategy to implementation, monitoring, reporting, audits and post-implementation reviews.
Her experience is particularly relevant in matters involving EU-funded projects, procurement compliance, financial corrections, audit findings, funding-contract obligations and implementation irregularities. She brings a practical understanding of how publicly funded projects are structured, implemented, monitored and challenged, and of the points where legal, financial and institutional exposure typically arise.
Ana-Maria supports legal, advisory and investigation teams in identifying risk areas, assessing project documentation, reconstructing decision-making processes and understanding the practical implications of national and EU funding rules. Her experience includes interactions with contracting authorities, managing authorities, intermediate bodies, audit authorities, the Court of Accounts and procurement oversight bodies.
Combining legal and economic training with long-standing operational experience in public-sector and EU-funded projects, Ana-Maria provides practical, evidence-based input in matters where the analysis depends not only on the legal framework, but also on how procurement and funding rules operate in practice, and on the underlying institutional and project-management context.
